Dr Chaterjee’s book offers a refreshingly non-judgemental and holistic approach towards health and well-being.

I recommend it to anyone interested in this field.

Using the analogy of juggling, Dr Chaterjee posits that while most of us can juggle two balls, even three or four at a time, if you throw in a fifth all the balls get dropped.

By the same token, whilst we might be able to cope with, say, lack of sleep and poor diet, if you add lack of exercise and/or over-stimulation, there is a point at which a “threshold” is reached and we risk becoming sick.

Of course, our personal “threshold” is unique to us as individuals, Dr Chaterjee goes on, but because every part of our body affects, to a greater or lesser degree, almost every other part, he argues that we need to take a rounded view of managing our health, one that considers every aspect of daily life, rather than one that simply manages symptoms, or hangs its coat on a “fad diet” or “quick fix exercise regime”.

Instead of overcomplicating health, which Dr Chaterjee argues has become the norm, this book provides a simple, actionable plan to help us “relax, eat, move and sleep” better.
